Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) is located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients requiring specialized cardiac and thoracic surgical and medical care. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-acuity environment within a Magnet-designated facility that is recognized as Wisconsins top hospital.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour days, working from 0700 to 1930, with every other weekend rotation and some holidays.
• Schedule: Days, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Start Date: 08/31/2026
• Required Qualifications: Certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS); Wisconsin or compact RN license; at least 2 years of recent acute care experience within the specialty; experience with accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, chest tube procedures, ventilator management, and other critical care skills; prior experience in a cardiovascular intensive care unit required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CI, Impella, ECMO, and complex cardiac patient management.
• Additional Information: The unit features 27 private ICU rooms capable of ICU-level care, with a multidisciplinary team including charge RNs, rapid response nurses, and nursing assistants. Staff may care for 1-3 patients depending on acuity, with frequent patient transfers and emergent procedures. The environment emphasizes technological expertise, patient-family needs, and teamwork. A telemetry test is required before start, with two attempts allowed, and must meet strict criteria. The assignment is for a 13 or 26-week contract, with specific approved time off. Travelers are required to float as needed and must be within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible.
