Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in La Jolla, California. This role involves working in a highly specialized perinatal unit within a healthcare organization that requires cross-training across multiple periatal departments, including labor and delivery, postpartum, and neonatology. The position offers an engaging environment dedicated to high-risk obstetric and neonatal care, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care.
Job Details
- Shift Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid California state license, registered nursing license, zero years of experience minimum, BSN degree or higher, and certifications including ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP.
- Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with charting system Epic, and previous charge nurse experience.
- Float: Float rotation among labor and delivery, postpartum, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is mandatory.
- Additional Information: The candidate must have two years of combined labor and delivery and postpartum experience with demonstrated competency in both areas. The role requires cross-training and flexibility to float across multiple periatal units, including Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum, and Neonatal care. Orientation includes 48 hours of training, and candidates must be open to working biweekly start dates with some shifts potentially on call. The facility supports high-risk obstetric and neonatal care, including deliveries, cesarean sections, and neonatal resuscitation.
