Description

Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse - YUMA, AZ. This high-acuity emergency department handles a wide range of critical cases, including trauma, STEMI, and stroke patients. The role involves providing exceptional patient care on a rotating schedule, utilizing Epic electronic medical records, and working with a versatile team in a busy trauma level 3 ER.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week. Shift start times include 7 AM, 10 AM, 11 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM, or 3 PM.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications; at least 2 years of emergency room experience with trauma Level I and II; Epic EMR proficiency within the last 5 years; Arizona or similar state nursing license; minimum of 2 years of ER experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a trauma Level 3 ER treating around 200 patients daily.
  • Float: Shared schedule with a nearby facility; floating may be infrequent and scheduled ahead of time.
  • Additional Information: The ER has 52 beds with 4 trauma bays, including 6 fast-track beds and 2 triage areas. The department manages a broad patient demographic with common emergency needs and ICU-level drips. Staff includes MDs, mid-level providers, nurse techs, and RTs available 24/7. The ER is equipped with dedicated CT and X-ray, monitor techs, and transport teams. The unit maintains a staffing mix with a charge-free structure, nurse aides, EMTs, and patient sitters per shift. Orientation involves a brief clinical and Epic system introduction, followed by on-the-floor training.
