Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Tucson, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts of 12 hours each per week
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Provide nursing care to Emergency Room patients following the Nursing Process, state Nurse Practice Act, and hospital policies.
- Utilize critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to plan and deliver safe patient care in the Emergency Department.
- Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
- Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
- Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
- Must be willing to float to other units as needed.

- 38-bed facility
- Trauma Level III certified
- Stroke Receiving Center
- STEMI Receiving Center
- Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner (experience required)
- Dress code: Black scrub colors
- NIH Stroke Scale certification is recommended but not required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working in a Trauma Level III facility
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record system
Additional Notes
- Start date requested within 2 weeks of offer acceptance
- Night shift schedule with 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
