Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Tucson, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts of 12 hours each per week
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Provide nursing care to Emergency Room patients following the Nursing Process, state Nurse Practice Act, and hospital policies.
• Utilize critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to plan and deliver safe patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
• Must be willing to float to other units as needed.

• 38-bed facility
• Trauma Level III certified
• Stroke Receiving Center
• STEMI Receiving Center
• Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner (experience required)
• Dress code: Black scrub colors
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is recommended but not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working in a Trauma Level III facility
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record system

• Start date requested within 2 weeks of offer acceptance
• Night shift schedule with 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
