Description
Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular Nurse in Madison, WI This role involves providing specialized care for patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries, heart and lung transplants, and other complex cardiac procedures. The position requires a skilled RN to support a dynamic ICU environment, with a focus on advanced cardiac patient management in a Magnet-designated facility.
Job Details:
- Shift: Rotating, 12-hour shifts, working 0700-1930 or 1900-0730, with every other weekend, some holidays, no call required.
- Schedule: 36 hours per week with flexible rotation shifts.
- Required Qualifications: WI or compact RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications, minimum of 2 years of acute care experience in an ICU setting within the last 3 years, excellent charting skills in Epic system, experience in CVICU procedures such as Port management, arterial line management, and ventilator management.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing complex cardiac patients, familiarity with CVVH machines, and experience with cardiothoracic surgical procedures such as CABG, Valve Repair/Replace, or LVAD.
- Additional Information: The position involves assisting with high-acuity cardiac and thoracic cases, including procedures like TAVR, Valve Repair, and post-surgical care. The unit is supported by interdisciplinary team members such as respiratory therapists, physical therapists, and rapid response teams. Staff will be responsible for managing advanced equipment including CRRT (NxStage), IABP, Impella, and ECMO, among others. All travelers must pass a Telemetry test prior to start, with strict passing criteria, and will be periodically evaluated for competency.
