Description
Job Summary:
The ICU Cardiovascular (ICU CVICU) specialty position is located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves working in a dynamic and specialized cardiac intensive care unit that provides comprehensive care for cardiac and thoracic surgery, heart and lung transplant, and cardiothoracic medical patients. The candidate will be part of a highly skilled team providing advanced patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, working 0700-1930 and 1900-0730, with every other weekend, some holidays, and no call.
- Required Qualifications: WI Registered Nurse (RN) license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), minimum 0 years of experience; experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required.
- Preferred Qualifications: CVICU experience, experience in cardiothoracic surgery and/or acuity adaptable area, two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, WI or compact RN license.
- Additional Information: Traveler will be required to pass telemetry test prior to starting; strict pass/fail criteria apply. Minimum inpatient RN experience of two years within the last three years in the specialty is required; references to be removed. The unit features private rooms capable of ICU level care, with a multidisciplinary support team and complex cardiac procedures frequently performed. The environment requires technological expertise and a patient-centered approach, with staffing typically caring for 1-2 patients, occasionally up to 3 if acuity permits.
