Description
Job Summary:
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) specialty position is located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing advanced nursing care to critically ill neonates in a level IV NICU environment. The position requires nurturing support for high-acuity infants, including those requiring surgical, medical, or diagnostic interventions, across a 12-hour day shift schedule.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: RN license in Wisconsin or a Compact license, at least 2 years of recent acute care experience, including 1 year in NICU Level IV or equivalent. Certifications required are BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-op neonatal patients, ventilator management, and various invasive and non-invasive support modalities.
- Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS (preferred)
- Additional Information: Will float to all units serving infants less than 12 months old, including a 24-bed level IV NICU. Experience with ventilators, thermoregulation, invasive lines, and neonatal-specific procedures is essential. The team collaborates with multidisciplinary services including respiratory, pharmacy, and social services.
