Description
Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) with specialization in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) located in Madison, Wisconsin. The role involves providing specialized nursing care in a fast-paced trauma center environment. The nurse will care for acutely ill adult patients, including those with complex medical conditions such as post lung transplants, cystic fibrosis, and pulmonary hypertension.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in ACLS and BLS, Wisconsin RN license or a compact RN license, two years of recent acute care experience within the last three years, and experience working in an academic Level I or II trauma center or similar-sized hospital.
- Skills: Ability to manage arterial lines, ventilated patients, chest tubes, central lines, PICC lines, wound care, and telemetry monitoring. Proficiency in interpreting ABGs and cardiac rhythms, managing dysrhythmias, and providing ICU-level care.
- Additional Information: Must pass telemetry examination with a perfect score in lethal rhythm identification and correct responses on heart block questions. Two attempts are allowed; failure after the second attempt requires submitting a cardiac interpretation review course certificate before a third attempt. The assignment is at a Magnet-designated hospital ranked as Wisconsins #1 hospital and a leading teaching institution.
