Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Falls Church, VA. This position involves supporting a busy surgical department with a focus on trauma, neuro, pediatric, transplant, and general surgery cases. The role requires flexibility to support various service lines, including orthopedics, organ transplants, ENT, vascular, thoracic, urology, and pediatrics, with a strong emphasis on night shifts and emergency support.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, approximately 12 hours per shift, with 36 hours or more weekly. The schedule includes 2-3 shifts per week, with weekend coverage on Saturday or Sunday, and at least one holiday per schedule period.
• Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in a Level 1 trauma environment, scrub and circulate experience preferred, BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), and at least 1 year of recent OR experience. Must have valid Epic electronic medical record (EMR) access.
• Preferred Qualifications: Neonatal and pediatric experience, trauma experience, and prior travel assignments of 1-2 periods are advantageous.
• Additional Information: The role involves supporting emergency cases across multiple service lines, including complex neuro, trauma, pediatric, and transplant surgeries. Night shift coverage requires on-call availability, supporting patient care during overnight hours, with urgent cases handled as necessary. The candidate should be comfortable floating to other ORs for emergency support and possess strong skills in navigating high-volume surgical environments.
