Description

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in Reston, Virginia. This position involves providing acute patient care in a hospital setting, supporting patients with various medical needs, including occasional trach/vent and chest tube management, and trauma cases. The role requires a dedicated healthcare professional committed to delivering high-quality nursing services in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Virginia RN license or Compact license at submission, 1-2 years of hospital experience in an Intensive Medical Care Unit (IMCU) or similar, BLS certificate, ACLS certification, and high school diploma or higher educational attainment
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pulmonary toilet procedures, trach/vent management, chest tubes, trauma patient care, and telemetry monitoring
  • Unit Specifics:
    • Number of Beds: 20
    • Patient Ratios: 1:4 or 1:5
    • Staffing: Nursing staff and Patient Care Technicians available
    • Equipment: Baxter pumps, Sequential Compression Devices, Telemetry monitors, 12 lead EKG, OGT with feeding tube, high flow oxygen devices
    • Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
    • Floating Policy: Will accept same ratio as unit floated to
    • Dress Code: Navy Blue uniforms
    • Certifications Required: ACLS
    • Unit Guidelines/Policies: Candidates are encouraged to review and attach unit-specific policies and guidelines

    • The unit has a dedicated team with experienced staff, utilizing advanced equipment and technology to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
