Description
Job Summary:
Operating Room Nurse in San Luis Obispo, California. This position involves assisting surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, coordinating workflow, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative phase. The role requires active participation in patient care planning, assessment, and nursing treatment, with a focus on maintaining sterile technique and proper operating room procedures. The position is represented by CNA.
Job Details:
- Location: San Luis Obispo, California
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 8 hours per shift, minimum 40 hours per week, from 06/21/2023 through 08/03/2026
- Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing, current RN license in California, 2 years of operating room experience, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications, and valid facility-specific license/certifications (AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS).
- Preferred Qualifications: Associate Degree in Nursing, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, and Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR).
- Essential Functions include circulating in the Operating Room during surgeries, applying aseptic techniques, operating all routine surgical equipment, preparing patients for surgery, assessing patients pre, intra, and post-procedure, handling biohazardous materials safely, and utilizing facility information systems.
- Additional job responsibilities encompass monitoring tissue temperature and packaging integrity, utilizing downtime for organizational tasks, and performing other duties as assigned.
