Description

Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse Phoenix, AZ. This position involves providing acute care in a Level 1 Trauma emergency department with a focus on trauma, burns, and pediatric transfers. The role requires adaptability to float across multiple ER facilities within the hospital system and perform specialized nursing skills in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with four weekend shifts per month, and holiday coverage based on unit needs.
  • Required Qualifications: Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); minimum of 2 years emergency room experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) certifications. ENPC not accepted as a PALS replacement.
  • Float: Float within the emergency department, including St. Joseph's Main, Westgate, and two free-standing ERs in Litchfield Park and Glendale. Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must demonstrate competency in sterile field maintenance, Foley catheter insertion, and central line dressing changes, especially for assignments at specific campuses. The role involves working with Phillips monitors and managing vents via RT or Intensivists in-house. Candidates should be comfortable working in high-acuity trauma, burn, pediatric, and psychiatric transfer cases, with a minimum two-year ER experience. The hospital employs Cerner as its charting system and schedules are 12-hour days with frequent weekend, holiday, and on-call responsibilities.
