Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Neurological specialty nurse opportunity in Phoenix, Arizona. The position involves working in a Level 1 Trauma ICU with a focus on neuro admissions, including brain surgeries, tumor removals, and spinal procedures. The role requires strong neuro assessment skills and experience with intracranial pressure monitoring, providing critical care to neurologically complex patients.

Job Details:

• Location: Phoenix, AZ
• Shift: 12-hour days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 08/10/2026
• Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS and ACLS. A minimum of 2 years ICU experience in a large (450+) Level 1 Trauma unit is required. Travel experience of 3 to 6 months is preferred. Candidate must have neuro ICU experience, neuro assessment skills, and ICP monitoring experience. Valid license to submit and willingness to wait for license verification are required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro-specific procedures, such as ICP monitoring, sterile field management, and neuro assessments.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, available for standby, with floating between ICU units and neuro floors. Floor-specific orientation includes two shifts on the unit.
• Additional Information: Must have strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience. Nurses should be competent in sterile field maintenance, lifts, restraints, and wound care as part of their skills assessment. The unit supports float rotation and incorporates weekends and holidays into core staff rotation. Scrub color can be any non-offensive print or color, with steel gray preferred for neuro floors. Vents and RT are available 24/7, as well as pharmacy services. The hospital can cancel up to four shifts during the 13-week assignment.
• Float: Required to float between all ICU floors and all telemetry units; patient load of 4:1 on telemetry.
• Emergency and Specialty Procedures: Ability to handle neuro diagnoses, craniotomies, brain tumor procedures, ablations, spinal surgeries, and scoliosis repairs. Candidates must have strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience.
