Description
Job Summary:
The registered nurse (RN) position in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is located in a busy, fast-paced healthcare environment serving a 500-mile radius. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for adult and geriatric patients experiencing severe, but usually non-life threatening issues, including stroke, sepsis, and cardiac or respiratory conditions. The nurse will deliver comprehensive patient care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure high-quality clinical outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour hours, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: NV Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to start; BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale certification; minimum 2 years of Intermediate Care Unit or Stepdown experience; experience with vasopressors, titratable drips, arterial lines, neuro-stepdown patients, procedural sedation, thrombolytics, and trach management; must pass ECG/Telemetry exam.
- Preferred Qualifications: Medical or Neuro Intensive Care Unit experience preferred.
- Additional Information: Travelers may be required to float to meet organizational needs up to their competency level and work major holidays. They are expected to take on one additional shift every 4-week schedule period. The facility may call off shifts without penalty with 48 hours' notice for low census.
