Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available at a healthcare organization located in Puyallup, Washington. This role involves supporting a fast-paced, multi-diagnosis unit primarily working on Night shifts. The RN will provide specialized care to a diverse patient population, including respiratory compromise, sepsis, renal failure, and post-operative recovery, with responsibilities across various inpatient units, including the Emergency Department Holding area and transport roles.

Job Details

  • Location: Puyallup, WA
  • Shift Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN licensure, ACLS certification, BLS certification, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, at least 1 year of ICU or PCU experience, current CPR certification, and ability to complete and pass telemetry competency prior to start. Additional experience in cardiac rhythm interpretation, ventilator management, invasive line management, and use of charting systems such as EPIC and Pyxis is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with chest tubes, lumbar drains, IV medication titration (e.g., Amiodarone, dopamine, insulin), and general patient education skills.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Transport of patients throughout the hospital including inpatient units, imaging, and procedure areas, with flexibility to support unit staff during slower periods. The role requires adaptability to a fast-paced environment, good communication skills, and the ability to handle complex clinical situations.
  • Start Date: 08/24/2026
  • Orientation: Two days of hospital orientation, including login access, modules, and other hospital policies, plus one day on the assigned unit. Additional orientation hours provided for floating to other units.
  • Certifications and Skills: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, ventilator management, invasive lines, cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV titration, charting in EPIC, Pyxis, and Alaris.
