Description

Job Summary:
Psychiatric Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a behavioral health facility within a hospital setting. This role involves providing direct patient care on an inpatient psychiatric unit, with a focus on safety, medication administration, and patient support. The position requires adherence to facility policies and specific skill sets to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; 1 year of experience in inpatient behavioral health nursing; certifications including CPI training and BLS; prior experience with psychiatric patient care; location in or willingness to work in Dulles, VA.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Additional certifications such as NCPI or trauma-specific courses are a plus.
  • Additional Information:
    • The unit has 17 beds with staffing composed of 2 RNs and 2 behavioral health technicians.
    • Equipment used is minimal, with documentation primarily through Meditech.
    • No floating policy; staff is expected to abide by HCA ICARE Values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence).
    • Procedures performed include medication administration, lab draws, and accuchecks.
    • Dress code requires navy scrubs.
    • The facility values experienced staff and offers a supportive environment, including an in-house sitter pool and security.
    • Candidates should be prepared to adhere to unit specific policies, including CPI and BLS certifications.
