Description
Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Madison, Wisconsin. This position involves providing high-acuity care for critically ill neonates in a Level IV NICU. The RN will deliver advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services to newborns requiring surgical procedures, invasive and noninvasive ventilation, and complex medical management, working within a model of patient-and family-centered care.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 12-hour shifts starting at 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: RN license in Wisconsin or a compact state, minimum of 2 years total experience in NICU Level III or IV, with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU, BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-operative patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, invasive/noninvasive ventilation modes, and??Cardiac interpretation review course certification.
- Additional Information: The RN will float to all units including pediatric intensive care units, caring for neonates under 12 months old with high acuity diagnoses. The unit utilizes ventilators such as Drger, servo & oscillator, with additional specialized equipment like Whole body cooling (Arctic Sun) and aEEG monitoring. The assignment requires passing a telemetry exam with strict criteria over two attempts.
- Location: Madison, WI, with travel and float responsibilities as needed during the shift.
