Description

Job Summary:
The Kansas City, Missouri facility is seeking a qualified Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse. This position involves providing around-the-clock care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, with a focus on monitoring and managing patients with medical diagnoses related to pulmonary, wounds, urology, general cardiac, neuro, and renal conditions. The role requires flexibility in floating between departments and adherence to patient care standards in a busy tertiary care environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shifts, 12 hours each, a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Missouri state license, BLS, NIHSS certifications, 2 years of clinical experience, charting experience with a community hospital EMR system.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Cardiac Telemetry, ER Holding, and Trauma Level I or II.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed.
  • Special Requirements: Must have at least 75 miles of home travel distance from the facility, with flexibility for Kansas and Missouri state licensing, and up to 7 days of RTO (Request for Time Off) permitted at time of submission.
  • Additional Information: The unit is equipped with specialized equipment such as chest tubes, IV therapy devices, and surgical drains. The hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Center with Magnet recognition, staffed with 456 beds, and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, interpretation services, and rapid response teams.
