Job Summary:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN position is located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves independent peri-anesthetic management of a complex and diverse surgical patient population. The assigned shifts are during the day, with a schedule of 10-hour shifts from Monday through Friday, starting between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The position requires critical care experience, proficiency with advanced equipment, and the ability to establish trusting relationships with patients and their families.

Job Details:

• Location: Madison, WI
• Shift: Days, 10 hours per shift, Monday through Friday, with a start time ranging between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
• Schedule: Shift Hours: 10, Minimum Hours Per Week: 40
• Required Qualifications: RN license, ACLS, BLS, minimum of 2 years of inpatient acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty, experience working pre/post operatively with varied surgical patient populations, critical care background required, Epic experience, pass Telemetry exam prior to first shift.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult patients, experience in a Level I trauma center, and familiarity with the following skills: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, Airway assessment, Arterial line management, Central line care, and more.
• Additional Information: The role involves managing a surgical patient census of approximately 55 patients daily across a variety of specialties including transplant, orthopedic, neurosurgery, and more. The candidate must pass strict pass/fail Telemetry testing, with two attempts allowed, and must meet minimum experience requirements. The assignment begins on 08/17/2026, with an orientation of 50 hours. Travel is required, with on-call shifts during weekends, and floating as needed. The facility is a Magnet-designated teaching hospital.
