Job Summary:
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse position is located in Bismarck, North Dakota. This role involves providing specialized care in a Level III NICU with 22 beds, featuring open bed concept and advanced neonatal support. The NICU nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality family-centered care to critically ill newborns, including attending deliveries and managing complex medical needs in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Location: Bismarck, North Dakota
• Schedule: Nights - 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week. The schedule may include weekends on an every other or every third weekend basis.
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification, at least 1 year of clinical experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, ICU or similar pediatric/neonatal setting, with experience in titrating drips such as antibiotics, surfactant, TPN, and epinephrine.
• Preferred Qualifications: 2 or more years of NICU experience, Level 3-4 NICU experience preferred, and ability to titrate drips.
• Responsibilities: Provide critical care to newborns including patients with respiratory support such as bubble CPAP and ventilators, manage central lines, attend deliveries of infants under 36 weeks, and collaborate with the healthcare team. Participate in family-centered care, monitor neonatal status, and perform required clinical duties using EPIC charting system.
• Additional Information: The unit employs a team of highly skilled providers, including 24/7 neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners. No nurse aides or patient care techs are routinely assigned unless the unit is particularly busy. Staff may float to newborn nursery and pediatric units as needed. Successful candidates demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, positivity, and engagement.
