Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position in Florence, Alabama. This role involves providing specialized maternal care in a busy labor and delivery unit. The RN will be responsible for supporting patients through the birthing process, monitoring fetal wellbeing, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes for mothers and babies.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support - Obstetrics (ALS-OB), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with postpartum care and fetal monitoring assessment, ability to respond effectively during emergencies, strong documentation skills, and familiarity with hospital electronic records such as Centricity and Meditech.
• Additional Information: The unit operates on an open staffing model with a focus on postpartum and high-risk obstetric care. Strong teamwork, adaptability, attention to detail, stamina, and empathy are essential attributes. The facility has 9 beds and handles cases including normal spontaneous labor, preterm labor, gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, placenta previa, placental abruption, fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, and postpartum hemorrhage. Orientation sessions are scheduled weekly on Mondays, with a start date available within 7-10 days of offer acceptance.
