Description
Job Summary:
The labor and delivery specialty nurse is needed at a healthcare facility in FARMINGTON, CT. This 12-hour day shift position involves providing care in the labor and delivery unit, focusing on high-risk maternity patients and newborn care. Prior travel experience and a minimum of five years of high-risk labor and delivery experience are required to ensure the highest level of clinical expertise and patient safety.
Job Details:
- Shift: Days, 12 hours per shift
- Schedule: 8/17/2026, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS); must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in labor and delivery (high-risk), prior OB experience, and prior travel experience.
- Unit Description: 12 postpartum rooms, 4 swing/antepartum rooms, 5 labor rooms, 4 triage rooms, 2 operating rooms.
- Patient Ratios: 1:3 on Labor and Delivery, 1:3 antepartum, 1:6 mother/baby couplet.
- Equipment: Vents include Alaris pumps, epidural pumps, and PAS lower extremity pumps.
- Certifications: Fetal monitoring certification preferred but not required.
- Unit Details: Provides scrubs; Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic; Medical System: Pysis.
- Additional Information: Every other weekend Friday/Saturday is scheduled; call rotation is required with a 4-hour mandation block if needed. Pat Pop: high risk. The nurse will be considered part of the units rotation pool and may need to work additional hours as necessary.
