Description

Job Summary:
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with experience in Labor and Delivery (L&D)for a healthcare facility in Schenectady, New York. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in the labor and delivery department, supporting patient assessments, implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team during night shifts. The role requires working with a high level of professionalism and adherence to clinical standards.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid New York license or eligibility for limited permit to practice, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to start date, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required within six months of employment, and intermittent fetal monitoring certification within six months or Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) certification within one year. Graduate of an accredited RN program required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and board certification preferred. A minimum of 2 years of relevant specialty experience.
  • Additional Information: No holiday or shift trade (RTO) requests will be permitted beyond 5 days. The candidate will be expected to complete patient assessments, develop individualized patient care plans, evaluate progress, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team. Responsibilities include patient education, safety assurance, and participation in performance improvement activities.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
