Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse located in an acute care setting. This role involves delivering specialized nursing care to neonates in a Level IV NICU, including assessments, procedures, and medication administration. The position requires working rotating 12-hour day/night shifts with every other weekend, and may include floating to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and pediatric departments.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, including every other weekend, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active and valid active ND (North Dakota) and Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification; at least 2 years of neonatal nursing experience; ability to administer medications through a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line; experience with neonatal assessments and care for IVs, umbilical lines, CPAP, Nasal Cannula, medications, G-tubes; proficient in EPIC (Electronic Health Records system).
• Preferred Qualifications: Level IV NICU experience verified by the American Academy of Pediatrics; competency in procedures such as intubation, spinal taps, PICC line placement, and ventilator management; experience with high-frequency ventilators, nitric oxide, MedFusion and smart pumps, and Spacelab monitors.
• Additional Information: Candidate must be willing to float to PICU and pediatric units as needed. The unit consists of 40 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:2 for critical infants and 3:1 for infants who are growing and feeding. Training includes a two-day orientation with a buddy for Epic charting and unit norms; badge-in/out required.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Scrub Color: Child-friendly scrubs with role-specific colored pants.
• Notes: Candidates must not reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility. Local travel rate applies for those living between 60 and 80 miles. Previous employment at the organization must have an end date at least six months prior to submission.
