Job Summary:
Pre-Operative Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Wichita, Kansas. This role involves providing patient care in a pre-operative unit, supporting surgical procedures, and ensuring a high level of patient experience. The position offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated team utilizing advanced equipment and technology, with varied procedures including urology, gynecology, and outpatient services.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Minimum 1-year current acute care Pre-Operative Registered Nurse (RN) hospital experience; BLS and ACLS certifications
• Preferred Qualifications: Some pre-op experience, ability to assist pre-op staff, prior Meditech EMR experience
• Unit Information:
  • Number of Beds: 9 Pre-op beds, 5 Phase 2 recovery beds
  • Staffing: 8 full-time RNs (including 2 open positions), 2 part-time RNs, 4 PRN RNs, 1 unit HUC
  • Patient Ratios: 1:3
  • Equipment: Pyxis, GE MACVU EKG machine, Doppler, patient scale, bladder scanner
  • Policies: On-call required with 30-minute response time; 2 on-call shifts of 10 hours every 8 weeks
• Additional Information:
  • Work involves performing procedures such as pre-op surgery, endoscopy, catheterization, electrophysiology studies, outpatient infusions, outpatient EKGs, nerve blocks, and blood transfusions.
  • The unit emphasizes patient experience, effective communication with staff and providers, and utilizes advanced technology to support clinical outcomes.
