Description

Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse position is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This role involves providing critical patient care on a 33-bed unit with acuity levels requiring 1:1 to 1:3 staff-to-patient ratios depending on patient needs. The position requires working nights shifts, with a schedule of 12-hour shifts totaling a minimum of 36 hours per week. Candidates should have relevant ICU experience and certifications to ensure delivery of specialized critical care services.

Job Details:

  • Shift Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Must have at least 3 years of recent ICU experience in a comparable unit, with current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. Experience with the EPIC electronic health record system within the past year is required.
  • Experience and Education: Minimum of 3 years of ICU experience; any additional required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
  • Submission Requirements: Must have a supervisor reference from the most recent or current assignment; charge nurse references are not accepted. Candidate must have managed 33-bed ICU units with specific experience in similar acuity and patient types.
  • Additional Information:
    • Orientation includes 8 hours of non-billable modules prior to the first day.
    • No first-time travelers accepted.
    • EMR system used is EPIC.
    • Daily responsibilities include managing common ICU patients such as respiratory failure, post-codes, open heart recovery (non-travelers), carotid interventions, vascular surgical patients, GI bleeds, strokes with TPA, IABP, Impella, and SLED.
    • Floating to tele floors may be required, with ratios of 1:5 on tele.
    • The unit enforces attendance and tardiness policies strictly, with progressive warnings up to termination.
    • Scrub color is black.
    • No trauma or hemorrhagic stroke patients are handled in this unit.
