Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Float Pool - Pediatric ICU position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across multiple pediatric units including PICU, CICU, and NICU.
Details
- Float Pool position within a hospital setting, with floating responsibilities across a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, and 112-bed NICU
- Additional float coverage to acute care units including surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), heme/onc, step-down, and cardiac peds
- When floated to the NICU, assignment is limited to feeder/grower patients (low acuity only)
- Night shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (40 hours/week)
- Weekends and holidays required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required for this float pool role
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or Compact/eNLC) currently in hand
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen therapy, and IV infusion required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Full date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, administering medications, monitoring physiological data, regulating IV infusions and blood products, and coordinating care with physicians and support staff
- Patient and family education regarding care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning is an expectation of the role
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after 26 weeks of total placement before being eligible for a new contract
- BSN is preferred but not required
- Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced — onboarding requirements (drug screen, background check, medical documentation) must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance
