Description

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse - Infusion Specialty in Sitka, Alaska. This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care to infusion patients, including administering specialty IV fluids, managing access devices, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The role requires working closely with patients and healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective infusion therapy, with a focus on patient education, documentation, and quality care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or another U.S. state; must have applied for an Alaska nursing license before start date; BLS and ACLS certifications; minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience; prior experience in infusion therapy preferred; knowledge of medication pharmacology, patient assessment, and use of specialized medical devices; effective communication and leadership skills; ability to operate infusion pumps, cardiac monitors, and electronic health record systems; clinical competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in specialty nursing, particularly in infusion or oncology care.
  • Additional Information: The individual will facilitate and oversee infusion patient referrals and treatments, coordinate appointments, administer IV fluids via central or peripheral access, and ensure adherence to safety guidelines. Responsibilities include patient assessment, education, documentation, and crisis management. The role also involves participating in staff development and maintaining current professional knowledge.
