Job Summary:
Psychiatric Unit Registered Nurse (RN) opportunities are available within a behavioral health facility located in Lafayette, Indiana. This full-time position involves working day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., providing critical mental health support to adult patients. The role demands compassionate care, crisis intervention skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license, CPR certification, minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health or addictions, experience with crisis intervention, verbal de-escalation, active listening skills, and empathetic communication skills
• Preferred Qualifications: Accurate and thorough charting and behavioral management skills, experience with substance abuse disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, PTSD, and anxiety disorders
• Additional Information: The hospital currently manages two units with staff rotating between them. Patients must be medically cleared before arrival, with certain exclusionary criteria for patients with lines or tubes, except for CPAPs or patients needing 2L of oxygen or less. Charting is primarily paper-based, with eHR entering orders via the HCS platform, and medications are managed through a pyxis system. The unit is designed for adult patients, with patient ratios adjusting based on census.
