Description

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) in a healthcare facility located in Connecticut. This position involves providing high-risk obstetric and neonatal care, including labor and postpartum services, with a focus on high-risk pregnancies and newborns. The role requires a minimum of five years of experience in high-risk labor and delivery, along with prior obstetric experience and travel experience.

Job Details:

  • Certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS). Fetal monitoring certification is preferred but not required.
  • Education: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Connecticut.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years in high-risk labor and delivery. Prior travel experience is required.
  • Location Requirements: Must be currently licensed or eligible for licensure in Connecticut.
  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Shift Details: Every other weekend (Friday/Saturday), call rotation required, with a four-hour mandation block if needed.
  • Responsibilities: Deliver high-risk obstetric and neonatal care, monitor fetal well-being, operate and manage Vents including Alaris pumps, epidural pumps, and PAS lower extremity pumps.
  • Additional Information: The unit includes 12 postpartum rooms, 4 swing/antepartum rooms, 5 labor rooms, 4 triage rooms, and 2 operating rooms. EMR system used is Epic, and medical systems include Pysis. During the assignment, personnel are considered part of the unit and may be required to work additional hours on an as-needed basis.
