Description

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry registered nurses in Charlotte, North Carolina, are responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with a variety of medical conditions. This role involves managing patients on a surgical telemetry unit, performing clinical assessments, and utilizing telemetry monitoring to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes during nights. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic healthcare environment and support a diverse patient population.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid licensure and certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. A minimum of 18 months of recent Med/Tele RN experience is required; experience in stroke, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc.), PCA pumps, and medication GTT management including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, and IVF.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with stroke patient care and telemetry monitoring technology.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required across units within the specified region, including facilities in Charlotte and surrounding areas. Travelers will be compensated for time spent traveling between facilities during floating shifts.
  • Additional Information: The position involves managing general medical and surgical telemetry patients, including bariatric weight loss surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgeries, and GI-related diagnoses. The unit operates within a 207-bed facility with a focus on patient safety and quality care. Orientation will include a 2-day departmental session, and staff will participate in a weekend rotation every other week, working 75% of holidays. RTO approval for up to 6 days off (excluding holidays) is available, with scheduling adjustments made accordingly. Scrub color is navy, and parking is free.
