Description

Job Summary:
The Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in the metropolitan area. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents with cardiac and surgical conditions within a critical care setting. The pediatric RN will be responsible for coordinating family-centered care, adhering to nursing standards, and working collaboratively with the healthcare team. The position offers a dynamic environment with the opportunity to work in both hospital settings as needed.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shift, with straight days or straight nights, 12 hours per shift, and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Minnesota RN license or Minnesota Temporary Permit-RN, BLS certification, PALS certification, and two (2) years PICU nursing experience including pre-operative and immediate post-operative PICU surgical patients, trauma patients, or two (2) years pediatric cardiovascular intensive care unit nursing experience with competence in caring for pre-operative and immediate post-operative cardiac patients as well as pre- and post-cardiac procedural patients.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for pediatric cardiac surgical patients and those requiring advanced cardiovascular life support.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: The position involves family-centered nursing care, utilizing the nursing process to deliver patient care, and includes performing independent nursing functions as well as delegated medical tasks in collaboration with the healthcare team. The assignment is set to start as soon as possible, with upcoming orientations on 08/10/2026 and potentially 08/24/2026, pending approval.
