Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Santa Maria, California. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care in a busy emergency department with a focus on trauma, stroke, STEMI, and pediatric patients. The position requires working night shifts in a fast-paced environment, supporting a diverse patient population with varying acuities.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), every other weekend, with the first shift to float.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, minimum of 2 years of emergency room experience, certifications including ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and COVID-19 vaccination.
• Preferred Qualifications: Travel experience preferred.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, COVID Vaccine Required (Certification).
• Facility Notes: ER unit with 4-bed fast-track section, trauma bays, psych/seclusion rooms, up to 317 patient visits per day depending on volume. Ratios: 1 to 4, or 1 to 1 or 2 for ICU status.
• Patient Care: Trauma, pediatrics (30% of population), stroke, STEMI, and other acute conditions.
• Staff Support: ER techs (CNA, EMTs), security personnel, unit clerk functioning as monitor tech, MDs and midlevels.
• Additional Information: Candidates must meet 2 years of ER experience; floating to Arroyo Grande ER may be required for orientation.
