Job Details

• Position Description: Provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients using critical thinking and independent judgment. Uses all phases of nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for the direction and supervision of the nursing patient care team, typically made up of CNAs, LPNs, and other techs. Collaborates with the team and other disciplines in the provision of care. Documents patient care, patient condition, reactions, and response to treatment in a timely manner and tracks patient progress.
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active Michigan/MI Nursing license, current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, 2 years current experience in a birth center setting, and a minimum of 2 years of professional nursing experience in labor and delivery.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with laboring patients, delivery (including newborn care at delivery), and postpartum (moms and babies). Prior travel experience preferred. Oaklawn will consider RNs without active certification if willing to obtain.
• Additional Information: Must have own vehicle. All scheduling requests, including time off, must be made during submission.
• Submission Requirements: Skills checklist current within one year, two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years, active American Heart Association BLS certification, current NRP certification, and licensed to practice in Michigan.
