Job Summary:
Psychiatric Nurse, Salem, MA This adult psychiatric unit is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team. The position involves rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights, with a focus on providing specialized mental health care to adult patients. Responsibilities include medication management, patient admissions and discharges, and ensuring patient safety within a 30-bed adult mental health unit.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shifts, including 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., for a minimum of 36 hours per week over four-week blocks. Nights position does not rotate.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification, at least 2 years of inpatient adult psychiatric experience, proficient with automatic medication dispensing systems (Omni Cell), knowledgeable in psychotropic medication side effects, competent with IV pumps and diabetic patient care, capable of assuming charge nurse duties, able to complete admissions and discharges, and skilled in emergency cardiopulmonary procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health regulations, experience with restraint and seclusion protocols, familiarity with guardianship laws, healthcare proxy, and court-ordered medication procedures.
• Additional Information: On-site AVADE training, lead electrocardiogram (EKG) training, understanding of inpatient rights, legal responsibilities related to patient status and medications, and experience working with adult populations aged 18 to 65.
• Float: Yes, float rotation may be required.
