Description

Job Summary:
This ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing opportunity is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The position involves providing high-acuity care in a 23-bed unit, focusing on medical-surgical and thoracic/cardiovascular patients. The role requires collaboration with a dedicated ICU internal medicine team, and involves managing patients with various critical conditions, including respiratory failure, ARDS, CHF, and post-surgical recovery.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 0630-1900 or 1830-0700, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license to practice, minimum of 3 years of ICU experience, current ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), and NIHSS (American Heart Association) certifications. Experience with titrating drips such as pressors, sedation, paralytics, insulin, heparin, etc., is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Recent EPIC electronic medical record experience within the last year, two years of hospital acute medical-surgical or ICU experience, and familiarity with ventilator and BiPAP equipment.
  • Additional Information:
    • Call-off policy: one shift every 14 days.
    • Orientation: two shiftsone classroom/unit orientation and one hands-on shift with a preceptor.
    • Night and weekend work are expected, with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts within six weeks.
    • No call or standby requirements.
    • Travel nurses are first to float to other units if needed, with up to five patients assigned during float.
    • Dress code: black scrubs.
    • Staff are responsible for drawing labs, performing EKGs, and managing patients independently.
    • No trauma patient care, hemorrhagic strokes, or neuro surgeries.
    • The unit operates with a dedicated ICU internal medicine team 24/7 and has RTs available for ventilator management.
