Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor nurse position located in Wheeling, West Virginia. This role involves providing patient care on a busy acute care unit with a focus on various diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, pneumonia, and other common conditions. The shift includes rotating day and night schedules with weekends and holidays as needed, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating day/night shifts, rotating weekends, holidays as needed, with minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (American Heart Association) certification, NIHSS certification; 2 years of relevant nursing experience, West Virginia nursing license, and ability to work in the United States.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic charting systems such as EPIC; comfort with patient care on a medical-surgical floor that handles diagnoses including CHF, COPD, cellulitis, R/O, chole, appendicitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI.
• Additional Information:
  • Unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of up to 1:7.
  • Charge nurse on duty; nurse aides (PCTs) available.
  • No ventilators or critical monitor technology; remote tele monitor available.
  • Float may be required based on census, with external travelers floating first.
  • Scrub color is navy blue.
  • No trauma level designation; acute care setting.
  • Facility fixed notes indicate a 50-mile radius rule; all submissions must include a copy of the candidate's unexpired drivers license and disclose licensing hits at time of submission.
  • Shift transition to QGenda scheduling.
