Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery registered nurse (RN) position located in Anchorage, Alaska. This role involves providing care in a Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with a focus on labor, delivery, and postpartum care. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team in a facility equipped with advanced technology and a strong focus on maternal and neonatal health.

Job Details:

  • Position: Travel RN - Labor and Delivery (L&D)
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Start Date: 08/24/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Nursing license (RN), BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification, 1 year labor and delivery experience, and labor triage experience
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IUPC/FSE placement, assistance with JADA/COOKS/BAKRI placement, and experience in performing procedures such as inductions, vaginal deliveries, C-sections, tubal ligations, and other obstetric interventions
  • Typical Job Responsibilities: Managing induction of labor, vaginal and cesarean deliveries, tubal ligations, labor triage, antepartum care, diagnostic procedures like NST and IUFD, administration of steroid injections, and external cephalic version
  • Unit Information:
    • Number of beds: 7
    • Staff per shift: 3 minimum (2 RNs and 1 OB Surgical Tech) during nights
    • Staff ratio follows AWHONN acuity staffing standards
    • Equipment: GE and Centricity Perinatal EMR (EPICT)
    • Level 2 NICU, caring for neonates at 32 weeks gestation and 1500g weight
  • Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs (provided)
  • Additional Info:
    • The candidate must be team-oriented, flexible, honest, accountable, and driven
    • May float as a Patient Care Tech (PCT) when census is low, as needed
    • Weekend and on-call shifts are scheduled as necessary, although call is not required
