Description

Job Summary:
Dialysis Nurse Specialist in Wausau, Wisconsin. This contract position involves providing inpatient and outpatient dialysis services, with shifts scheduled to accommodate variable needs. The role requires collaboration with dialysis technicians and may include coverage in ICU units, with responsibilities spanning both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Job Details:

Shift Time: Days
Schedule: Variable shifts including 8, 10, or 12 hours, with start times ranging from as early as 5:00 AM to as late as 7:30 PM depending on patient and clinic needs.
Required Qualifications: WI Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC), a minimum of 2+ years of experience including previous inpatient dialysis experience, prior continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and Peritoneal Dialysis experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant dialysis experience in an inpatient setting.
Charting Experience: Epic preferred.
Assignment Length: 13 weeks, starting 08/24/2026.
Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed, with potential for additional low census hours and call-back pay.
Location: 333 PINE RIDGE BLVD, WAUSAU, WI 54401.
Inpatient Patient Ratio: 1:4 with dialysis techs, or 1:1 in ICU units. Outpatient ratio: 1:8.
Float: Only to and from inpatient and outpatient units.
On Call/Call Back: Required three times in a two-week period, with a response time of 1 hour.
Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday.
