Description

Job Summary:
Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) Wausau, Wisconsin. This contract position involves providing inpatient and outpatient dialysis care across a variety of shifts, with flexibility to accommodate patient and clinic needs. The role includes both RN and Patient Care Technician responsibilities based on clinical requirements, supporting a dynamic healthcare environment.

Job Details:

  • Shift Time: Days
  • Schedule: Shift hours are variable, including 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts. Start times may be as early as 5:00 AM or as late as 7:30 PM depending on the shift. Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours.
  • Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC), minimum of 2 years of experience with prior inpatient dialysis, including CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) and Peritoneal Dialysis. Prior trauma level II experience highly preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required only to and from inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • On Call/Call Back Requirements: Required three times within a two-week period, with two of those shifts possibly on every other weekend. Response time is within 1 hour.
  • Charting Experience: Epic preferred.
  • Unit Overview: Inpatient ratio is 1:4 with dialysis technician support or 1:1 in ICU units; outpatient ratio is 1:8.
  • Additional Information: Assignment coverage may span inpatient or outpatient RN roles; PCT responsibilities are also expected based on clinical needs. Contract includes eligibility for up to 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, with travelers potentially on call during this period and eligible for callback pay. The GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation. Shift coverage is guaranteed for set hours per week, except during holidays when the unit may be closed.
