Job Summary:
Certified First Surgical Assistant in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This position involves assisting surgical teams within an acute care setting, ensuring quality patient care and operational efficiency. The role requires an experienced professional to support various procedures, including robotic surgeries, and to adapt quickly to different surgical environments.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 4 - 10 hour days, Days shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA.
• Minimum Experience: 2 years as a Certified Surgical First Assistant.
• Required Qualifications: Active NBSTSA certification, BLS through AHA, a minimum of 2 years of surgical assistance experience, and ability to assist on a variety of cases including robotic procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience assisting in orthopedic and neurological surgeries, and familiarity with EPIC charting system.
• Float: Possibility to be floated to other intra-departmental units such as Orthopedics or Neuro.
• Orientation: Abbreviated orientation for experienced first assistants to adapt quickly to surgeons post-placement.

• Additional Information: The staff will be responsible for assisting surgeons with exposure, hemostasis, and technical functions during surgeries. Equipment includes hospital-owned and proprietary sterile instrumentation.
