Job Summary:
Telemetry Nurse in Tyler, Texas. This position involves providing specialized patient care within a telemetry unit that serves a diverse adult patient population, with a focus on cardiac monitoring and post-intervention recovery. The role emphasizes critical assessment, timely intervention, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid state license in Texas, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). A minimum of 2.0 years of experience in telemetry nursing.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in a telemetry or cardiac care unit, proficiency with electronic charting systems (Epic preferred), and familiarity with managing cardiac arrhythmias.
- Additional Information: Experience with managing hemodynamically stable cardiac patients, interpreting dysrhythmias, and telemetry monitoring is essential. The unit maintains a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6 and provides interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, social work, and pharmacy. Orientation includes 16 hours of onboarding and core modules to be completed within 48 hours of contract signing.
