Description

Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in San Jose, California. This position involves working in a hospital environment with a focus on perioperative patient care. The role requires collaboration with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure smooth surgical procedures and patient safety during day shifts.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Days, 8 hours per shift
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 40 hours
  • Start Date: 09/07/2026
  • Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS certification, 0+ years of experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CNOR certification, Heart experience, and additional skills in specialties like Robotics, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, ENT, Plastics, Thoracic, or General surgery.
  • Unit Information:
    • 12 Operating Room (OR) beds
    • 38 RNs, including 6 benefited OR RNs and 12 benefited technicians
    • Staffing includes day shift with 16 benefited RNs (including charge nurses), 6-7 OR technicians, and multiple teams for mid and evening shifts
    • Equipment: Perioperative equipment
    • EMR system: Meditech
  • Responsibilities:
    • Providing perioperative nursing care during a variety of surgical procedures including neuro, spine, total joint, gastric sleeves, major general surgery, ENT, pediatric, urology, cardiac (CABG and valve surgeries).
    • Adapting to team responsibilities and hospital policies, including a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Additional Information:
    • Orientation to unit policies will be provided on-site.
    • Candidate must have California RN license prior to submission.
    • Will float to pre-op if required, following hospital guidelines.
    • Dress code: Scrubs provided by the hospital.
    • No specific weekend or on-call requirements have been specified; call rotation will be discussed during the interview.
