Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) Step Down Unit Madison, WI. This position involves providing critical patient care in a high-acuity step down unit, supporting patients recovering from cardiac procedures, heart failure management, and other cardiology conditions. The role offers an opportunity to work within a leading, Magnet-designated hospital and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional outcomes.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The shifts run from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, Monday through Friday with every other weekend required.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or a compact RN license; BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications from American Heart Association; minimum of 2 years of acute care experience in cardiology or telemetry within the last 3 years; experience managing telemetry, arterial lines, and cardiac drips; strong knowledge of dysrhythmias and invasive cardiac procedures; must pass a telemetry exam with a score of 80% or higher in two attempts.
- Preferred Qualifications: Community hospital, LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care), or trauma level experience; experience with EP (Electrophysiology) procedures, post-cardiac surgeries, and advanced cardiac technologies.
- Additional Information: The role involves utilizing specialized equipment such as cardiac monitors, invasive lines, and chest tubes, along with participating in collaborative interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Candidates must be able to pass strict testing criteria prior to start.
