Description

Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Lynchburg, Virginia. This role involves providing specialized patient care for a diverse patient population, including med-surg, tele, cardiac, neuro, and cerebrovascular accident (CVA) patients. Candidates must have prior travel experience and be able to adapt to a teaching hospital environment where interaction with students and new hires is expected.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with assignments ending on Saturday. Orientation sessions are held every other week on Mondays, with specific dates including 08/24, 09/08, and 09/21.
  • Required Qualifications: Active VA or Compact Nursing License, minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, prior travel experience, experience with Cerner electronic health record system preferred, and be willing to take on charge responsibilities with appropriate training and pay differential.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Charge responsibility experience, prior neuro ICU experience, and VA or Compact License upon start date.
  • Additional Information: Be prepared to work in a teaching hospital environment, contributing to a culture of support for students and new hires. The unit aims to follow a 2/3 weekends work schedule but may vary based on unit needs. Locals within 60 miles are not accepted. Limited RTO is available; the client can cancel assignments up to 36 hours in advance due to census fluctuations.
