Description
Job Summary:
Emergency Room RN - Nights - Schenectady, NY. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care in a state-of-the-art hospital setting. The registered nurse will be responsible for delivering patient care in a fast-paced environment within a 70-bed unit that serves a diverse patient population. The role requires flexibility, clinical expertise, and adherence to facility protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid New York nursing license, at least 2 years of ER experience (will consider candidates with 1 year for screening purposes), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications at the time of submission. PALS certification is mandatory at submission.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) certifications, Criss Prevention Institute (CPI) certifications.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to Emergency Department Observation Unit.
- Additional Information: The facility's ER unit is equipped to handle a wide range of urgent and chronic medical, surgical, dental, and emotional needs, including specialty services like cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, and psychiatric crisis intervention. The mental health crisis stabilization unit operates 24/7 with dedicated staffing. Candidates should be prepared to work in a dynamic environment and possess proficiency with unit-specific procedures including drips, infusions, phlebotomy, starting IVs, EKGs, transports, and medication administration.
