Description
Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Burn specialty position located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing advanced critical care on a 11-bed acuity adaptable unit within a Level One Trauma Center and Wisconsins only American College of Surgeons (ACS) verified Adult and Pediatric Burn Center. The nurse will deliver compassionate, specialized care to adult and pediatric patients with complex burns and wounds, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic hospital setting.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, starting on 09/14/2026, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: ACLS, BLS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)AHA certification; WI Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license; at least 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty; experience with inpatient RN roles, telemetry testing, and pass/fail testing criteria.
- Preferred Qualifications: IST Intensive Care Unit Burn experience, Trauma Level I or II experience, community hospital experience, and experience with complex wound management.
- Additional Information: Candidate must have experience managing arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilated patients, and complex wounds. The assignment includes working with burn patients, with no burn care responsibilities required from travelers. Travel involves risk management in a high-acuity environment with mandatory telemetry testing and compliance requirements. Travelers will be required to float as needed and must meet the local rule of being at least 50 miles from the facility.
