Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Surgical Technician specializing in Operating Room Technology in Lafayette, Colorado. This position involves supporting surgical teams by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile environments, and assisting surgeons during procedures. The role reports directly to Surgical Services management and contributes to system-wide surgical safety and operational initiatives.

Job Details

• Maintains accountability for ensuring the operating room and all surgical items meet sterilization criteria.
• Maintains the sterile field and ensures a safe environment.
• Recognizes and addresses sharps and fire safety processes.
• Prepares the operating room and instruments for surgical procedures.
• May assist with sterile processing.
• Assists the surgeon(s) during procedures while staying within the Operating Room Technician (ORT) scope of practice.
• Can identify emergency situations and exercises judgment when implementing procedures to respond to emergencies.
• Assists with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for subsequent procedures upon completion.
• Schedule: 12-hour days, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Certifications: CO License (DORA) required, NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist required, BLS (AHA) required.
• Education: Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six months; or two years of scrub tech experience in hospital or military surgical services within the last three years.
• Skills: Demonstrates ability to maintain a sterile field, recognize sharps and fire safety processes, and respond appropriately during emergencies. Has experience supporting surgeries, managing sterile fields, sterilization, and supervision within surgical services.
