Description

Job Summary:
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) Specialist position is based in Glendale, California. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a high-acuity cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology suites. The successful candidate will support various diagnostic and interventional procedures by ensuring patient safety, procedure setup, sedation administration, and hemodynamic monitoring.

Job Details:

  • Location: Glendale, California
  • Schedule: Days shifts, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association), COVID Vaccine, NIHSS certification; 2 years of previous experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology setting; valid license to submit.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience is preferred.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Assisting with Cath Lab and IR procedures, including L and R heart catheterizations, EP studies, pacemaker and defibrillator management, PICC line placement, central line placement, Swans, pleurovacs, and stroke interventions.
    • Procedure setup, circulating during procedures, administering sedation, patient monitoring, and hemodynamic management.
    • Operating in a team environment with a 3-person team, which requires floating between the main procedure room and the adjacent control room with a view window.
    • Responding to evening, weekend, and holiday call requirements, including 30-minute response time.
  • Schedule & Operations:
    • Shifts are from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with an allowance for flexing due to 10-hour shifts.
    • Evening call 1-2 times per week, with 1-2 weekends and 1 major and 1 minor holiday per month.
    • Up to 2 weeks of orientation with another RN, not included in call rotation until the third week.
