Description
Job Summary:
The healthcare organization is seeking a Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician for a facility in Fargo, North Dakota. This role involves assisting in surgical procedures across various specialties, primarily focusing on neuro, orthopedic, ENT, plastics, and general surgeries. The technician will work within a busy hospital environment with multiple operating rooms and will support surgical teams during procedures, ensuring compliance with established policies and safety protocols.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 10-hour shifts, rotating schedule with call responsibilities every 1 to 2 days and every 3 to 4 weekends. Extended shifts may be required as needed.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association; minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technician or Operating Room Tech; valid licensure and registration with the North Dakota Board of Nursing Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) Registry at least one week prior to start; experience working in a busy acute care facility with more than 15 operating rooms; experience with robotics; working knowledge of systems such as Zimmer, Depuy, Biomet, and Striker for total joint replacements.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in neuro, orthopedic, ENT, plastics, and trauma surgeries; familiarity with EPIC charting system; ability to float to other campuses in Fargo.
- Additional Information: The role involves performing surgical and operating room duties, assisting surgeons and healthcare teams during procedures, and maintaining sterile environment standards. Scrub attire will be provided, with specific scrub color requirements (Ceil Blue). The facility operates 25 operating rooms with an average of 75 to 100 cases daily.
- Submission Notes: Candidates must note if they have worked previously for the organization and ensure they have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission if applicable. Those living within 60 miles of the facility cannot be considered. Candidates living 60 to 80 miles from the facility are eligible at a reduced local travel rate.
